You can catch the full ride—from Aces to all-ins to a Chipotle-fueled comeback attempt—in my latest vlog here. I fired a bullet in the $1,000 Mystery Millions, one of the wildest and most popular events at the WSOP.

Here’s the setup: you start with 40,000 chips, play 30-minute levels, and if you bag for Day 2, you get a shot at a mystery bounty worth up to $1,000,000. Yes, you read that right—$1 million. But the catch? You have to survive Day 1 to even qualify for a bounty pull.

Driving In, Fired Up

I vlogged the ride into the Horseshoe, talking strategy and manifesting a bag. This was my second day playing the Mystery Millions, and I knew the goal was simple: survive to Day 2. If you bust, you miss out on the bounties completely.

My focus was clear: build a stack early, pick good bluff spots, and take advantage of aggressive opponents.

Fueling Up (and Feeding Bobby)

Before cards were in the air, I made a Chipotle delivery to Bobby. Pro tip: if you want to keep your poker partner happy, make sure they’re well-fed and well-rested.

We were both playing the Paris side, which is always a good sign. That room feels lucky. I had good energy, my lucky rail, and some fun table banter early on to keep the vibes high.

Big Hand: A♣4♠ vs A♠K♦

Blinds were 1,000/2,000/2,000. I was in the big blind, and the small blind—a player who had been relentlessly attacking my BB—opened to 6,000. I called with A♣4♠.

Flop: K♣K♠5♥ – Check-check.

Turn: 3♦ – He bet 6,000, I called with my gutshot.

River: 4♥ – He bet 15,000. I tanked and called, thinking his sizing looked like a bluff. Unfortunately, he turned over A♠K♦ for trip Kings. Rough one, but not a huge dent.

Then Came the Aces

Shortly after that hand, I woke up with A♠A♦ and doubled through a shorter stack. That put me over 100K, and things were starting to feel like they were turning around.

Meanwhile, Bobby was on his third bullet and threatening to play the online bracelet event instead—he even called himself a “loser” (he’s not). Classic #MoreBob moment.

All-In for Peanuts: Q♠8♣ vs A♣J♦

After losing a few medium pots and getting short, I found myself down to two big blinds. I shoved with Q♠8♣, got called by A♣J♦, and didn’t improve.

Tartar sauce.

But that’s poker. I was still proud of the reads I made, the discipline I showed, and the resilience I brought to the table.

Table Talk, Tilt Management, and Making the Most of It

Sometimes the best part of a tournament isn’t the finish—it’s the experience. Talking to fans, laughing through bad beats, and getting reminders that this game is meant to be fun.

Plus, after busting, I made the very +EV decision to spend time with my best friend and Bobby instead of immediately firing again. I’ll be back. The series is long, and I’m in it for the war—not just one battle.
