Two big blinds on the bubble
The video opens with one of the most stressful spots of my summer. I was under the gun next with two big blinds, not even enough for a full small blind, and the money was close. Do you fold and hope to squeak in, or play?
I played. My opponent had pocket aces against my ace-nine suited, and I needed help. I got it, tripled up, and stayed alive. I have never had a more supportive table: everyone wanted me to win that hand.
Half my audience is here for Bob
I am pretty sure half of my YouTube audience watches for my husband, Bob, also known as #MoreBob. This video is mostly him: his “national healthcare alert” about the dangers of playing poker for fun, his book idea, his opinions on my sense of direction, and his debate every day about whether to play or nap. He always ends up playing.
Jeff Platt impressions
Bob took the mic and did his best Jeff Platt, interviewing Jeff, who was very gracious about it. The verdict: Bob should not quit his day job.
Bob’s Day 2 in the seniors event
Bob made Day 2 of the seniors event, in a field of more than 3,000, and got interviewed right after I finished seventh in Salute to Warriors. His summary: I am the better player, he is the luckier one.
Bagging chips at 2 a.m.
After 14-hour days three days in a row, filling in a chip bag is harder than it sounds. We were the last table to bag, I could not do the math, and Bob had to help me with the count. Then I had to remember how to spell my own name. It is Lexy, with a y.
The scare prank and pool day
I hid behind the bed for seven minutes to scare Bob. It worked, he screamed, and it was absolutely worth starting a war over. Later, Bob skipped the Closer to take a pool day while I brought home the bacon at the tables.
The bonus clip is from Prague, after two glasses of wine and a Day 2 bag in the European Championship.
